FAQ

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions that come to us and we hope you may find the answers helpful:

A: No, we also offer weekly packages from Tuesday to Tuesday and 4 nights from Tuesday to Saturday and also a 3 night stay from Saturday to Tuesday. You can find the various packages on our Bookings and Pricing page.
A: A maximum of six to provide a well managed and safe riding environment. We also welcome additional non-riders
A: You need to be an intermediate rider. This would usually indicate at least 5 years of riding experience. You should be able to ride a horse with a good independent seat in walk, trot and canter over even and variable ground. Advanced riders are also welcome and won't be disappointed by the quality and standard of the horses. We always want to hear of children who may have less riding experience, but may have already developed good skills
A: We do use a mounting block when we get on the horses at the ranch. This helps and protects the horses backs. We do however hope that guests can mount a horse without a mounting block as this reflects a degree of agility on the part of the rider and there may be circumstances in an outside environment where it is necessary to get on and off a horse in a situation where there are no aids to mounting !
A: Your weight - yes, a maximum of 85 kilos per rider ! Your age - no, it is your fitness that counts. If you have children who would like to ride with us, we would still be interested to hear from you.
A: We hack out into the countryside, but classes can be arranged upon request.
A: Yes, no problem - we have lots of experience, please just ask us !
A: We are within the town's boundaries but are situated in a private and tranquil valley with the town only 10 minutes walk away. Coín is a town of approximately 25.000 people and is full of bars, restaurants, shops, banks and chemists etc. The countryside is right on our door step and within 5 minutes on a horse we are heading into the Andalucian countryside. We offer the best of both worlds !
A: No. Riding on the beaches in Spain is prohibited by law all year round.
A: We recommend riding breeches with riding boots or half chaps and hard hat..
A:We provide public liability insurance for third parties….however it is a condition of the holiday that you should provide yourself with your own personal riding and accident insurance. A policy for supervised hacking in Europe is normally sufficient. These can be purchased very cheaply and normally last a year. (They will require you to be wearing a riding hat should you make a claim.) You should also have a cancellation insurance. We cannot refund the cost of your holiday if you cancel for personal reasons.
A: We use Barefoot treeless saddles, most of our guests find these saddles extremely comfortable and they work well on our horses.
A: On the ranch we have a 10m x 5m swimming pool and we are a very peaceful oasis for chilling out and relaxing in. On the ranch we have a Pilates instructor and are able to offer sports- and general massages. The town of Coín is only 10 min. walk away and is full of shops, restaurants and bars. The area is beautiful for walkers and bird watchers and in the area it is easy to find plenty of golf, cycling, shooting, and excursions by car to such places as Ronda, Gibraltar or a very easy bus ride to the beautiful city of Malaga.
