Congratulations to TEAM SPAIN who have won the Longines F.E.I. ENDURANCE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS at the San Rossore Estate in Pisa, Italy: TEAM GOLD 2021. A total of 76 riders from 31 countries started the 160 km course.
This competition will bring together a score of riders from our community who will measure themselves in this discipline, which has a very old origin and is related to our culture and which has now become very popular. It consists of the training process that a horse receives in order to enhance their skills and acquire the skills necessary to work with livestock in the field. In competitions, both individually and by teams, the riders and their horses have to develop three tests: dressage, maneuverability and speed. This competition is organized by the City Council of Coín, Andalusian Federation of Hipica Delegation Malaga, Royal Spanish Horse Federation, the Association of Working Equitation of Malaga and the Diputación de Málaga
At the Longines FEI World Endurance Championships held on 18th September 2016 at the outstanding facilities in Samorin in Slovakia, Spain's Jaume Punti Dachs and 'Twyst Maison Blanche' won the individual Gold Medal for the 160 km race. We are currently in the process of completing a substantial renovation project converting our 300 year old former marble mill of 600 m2 into a fully functional and state of the art modern stable complex for 12 horses. It will provide large, spacious and comfortable boxes for our horses and a cool environment in the hot summer months....5* accommodation for the horses ! (Incidentally at the same time on the first floor, we have constructed a very large family apartment that can sleep up to 6 people). A beautiful cobbled stone mosaic square has also been produced in front of the mill. We are happy to say this work has not impinged, in any way, on the area's that our guests have occupied. This has been a major financial project made possible by the very large number of guests who return to us each year.... !
Miranda and Giles have recently been interviewed by Spanish TV to promote the local Guadalhorce Valley and to show how a foreign couple have established themselves in Coin and have become well integrated in the local community.
Miranda was also interviewed by Dutch National TV for a lifestyle program on how to succesfully relocate to a foreign county.
It was great fun and the horses enjoyed the special attention !
