"... I feel compelled to write and thank you for the truly wonderful riding holiday I had. As I am sure you can understand, taking a 'busman's' holiday whilst working for an equine charity ( manager of ILPH Norfolk centre / World Horse Welfare ) put extra pressure on me to find a good riding holiday where the welfare of the horses was of paramount importance. Your centre excelled on both counts !
You both have a love and passion for horses in general, and Andalucians in particular, which is infectious. To see so many extremely fit, sound, strong and well shod horses was a breath of fresh air. I know how hard it is to get horses looking and feeling like this so you must take a huge amount of credit for presenting your guests with horses of this calibre.

The riding frequently took my breath away. I would just think I had seen the best view in Spain and we would turn a corner and see another equally as stunning. The Andalucian Horse Show had me in tears in 30 seconds ! Beautiful. Your hospitality and attention to detail was exemplary and you made us all feel very welcome and special. It was a privilege to ride such happy, contented and responsive horses. You really do deliver all your web site says, and more. Your riding holiday exceeded all my wildest dreams and I will be one of your many returners. Please keep up the good work !"

"Even though I have just completed my 7th riding holiday with yourselves (which is testimony to your horses and hospitality in itself!), I just want to thank you both so much for making my various friends so very welcome.
Over the past 6 years I have brought along five different friends and recommended at least another four to visit you. Each and every one has been wowed by your horses, the riding and your hospitality. As you know, several have already returned without me! I always feel totally confident that any one I recommend to visit you will have an amazing time and this has always been the case.
I don't know how you manage to keep your horses so happy, responsive, sound and well in what is a tough line of work for horses at the best of times. Testimony to your great depth of knowledge, love and understanding of horses I feel...........
As always, I am fitter and riding better as a result of my holiday with you last week. It is so nice to be reminded how light and surefooted a horse can be......

Via Facebook: "Giles and Miranda have done it again! This was our 3rd trip back to HorseRidingSpain as a group and as always, we had an amazing time. We were again blown away by the amazing views that Andalusia has to offer which is only made more enjoyable by the world class comedy which is happily provided by Giles. This trip was slightly different from our previous holidays with HorseRidingSpain as this was my first-time back trekking since breaking my back 2 years ago. Giles and Miranda went out of their way to make sure that I was coping well throughout the holiday which was very helpful and just what you would expect from such genuinely lovely people. Going back to the ranch always feels as relaxing as a holiday and just as welcoming as a second home for the girls and me. We only got home on Monday and, as is typical upon our return, are already planning our next trip out there.....

continue reading: ....What we enjoy seeing the most while at the ranch is the animals. Giles and Miranda have a menagerie of animals that they have collected and rescued over the years and if you saw these animals you would be hard pressed to imagine that they have ever had a bad day in their lives. From Chiqui who is possibly the sweetest little dog to grace this planet to Sirocco who is 20 years old and still enjoys trekking up the mountains every week. The most apparent thing about these horses is how healthy and happy they are and how much they love their work. Any equestrian has a lot to learn from Giles and Miranda about horse care and wellbeing as they will be learning from the masters. Cara, Aoife, Josie and I cannot recommend HorseRidingSpain enough and look forward to returning next summer!"
Via Facebook in Dutch: "Fantastische plek! Mijn dochter ging s ochtends mee met de ritten, die 4 uur duren. Zij vond het rijden op een Spaans paard geweldig. Ik lag aan t zwembad met n boek of ik klom naar boven om koffie te drinken in de oude stad van Coín. Leuk stadje trouwens. Heerlijk rustige en mooie tuin, alles schoon, zeer ruime kamer met fijne bedden. Ontbijt, lunch en diner ook goed. Mooie en zeer goed verzorgde paarden, Miranda en Giles heel hartelijk en behulpzaam. Ik zou zo terug gaan!"

in English: "Fantastic place! My daughter took the 4-hour trips in the morning. She loved riding a Spanish horse. I enjoyed time by the pool with a book or I walked up to town to get a coffee in the old town of Coín. Nice town by the way. Wonderfully quiet and nice garden, everything clean, very spacious room with nice beds. Breakfast, lunch and dinner good too. Beautiful and very well cared for horses, Miranda and Giles very warm and helpful. I would go back any time!"

Via Tipadvisor: "I have just returned from my 5th riding holiday at Horse Riding Spain with Giles and Miranda, and it was the best yet. I had the privilege of riding 3 of their fantastic horses, Gitana, Sirocco and Rociera. They were all extremely fit, sure footed, and forward going, with their own individual characters. There is a huge amount of differing terrain to cover, with wonderful pine forests, riding in the nearby rivers and wonderful hill/countryside rides. Each day the ride is different with plenty of canters and gallops – there really is nothing like riding in the Andalusia countryside. This really is a horse riders dream.....

continue reading: ....Giles and Miranda are wonderful host and their hospitality is superb. They bend over backwards to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Their beautiful ranch is nestled in the village of Coin – a little piece of paradise, with birds constantly singing to you in the background. The Spanish home cooked food is delightful, with plenty to fuel you for the next ride. I cannot recommend Giles and Miranda Spainish Ranch highly enough. I’m going back in August this year and will definitely be booking again after that. Happy Trails."

Via e-mail in German: "Liebe Miranda, lieber Giles, mit der Antwort hat es jetzt ein bisschen gedauert, aber auch nach dieser Zeit erinnere ich mich immer noch gerne an die Osterwoche bei euch zurück, es war mega!! Die Ausritte waren herrlich. Die schöne Landschaft auf dem Rücken der Pferde zu erleben ist etwas ganz Besonderes. Zudem hatte ich noch das Glück, quasi Einzelbetreuung zu erhalten (ich hab´s genossen). Schnell habe ich mit Savannah mein Lieblingspferd gefunden, dass gut zu mir passte und ich auch vermisse. Überhaupt fand ich alle Pferde sehr gut und vor allem, dass ihr so respektvoll mit ihnen umgegangen seid. Auch meine Eltern als „Nicht-Reiter“ haben sich bei euch sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Verpflegung und den herzlich familiären Umgang mit euch fanden sie super.Liebe Grüße - Josi"

in English: "Dear Miranda, dear Giles, it took a while to write, but even after this time I really enjoy remembering my Easter week with you, it was tremendous ! The rides were wonderful. Experiencing the beautiful countryside from a horse´s back is very special. Furthermore I was lucky enough to enjoy semi private rides (I really enjoyed). I quickly found my favorite horse in Savannah, she fitted me well and I miss her. I found all the horses really good and especially liked the way you treated them all with such respect. Even my parents, as non-riders,were very comfortable. They really loved the the food and the warm/friendly treatment by you. warm regards, Josi"
Via Tripadvisor in Dutch: "Wow.... wat een vakantie! Wat een heerlijke tijd hebben wij hier gehad! Alles was geweldig. Eerst zijn we een paar dagen in Malaga geweest en daar zijn wij opgehaald op ons verblijfadres ipv het vliegveld. Topservice! En zo was alles eigenlijk. Een heel mooi appartement, schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien, prettige bedden met het meest zachte beddegoed ever (waar halen jullie die, die wil ik ook!), een flesje wijn. Actieve Amadeo bracht ons gezellige paardengeluiden vanuit zijn paddock voor ons appartement. En het kabbelen van de rivier die langs het terrein loopt was ook heerlijk rustgevend. Er zwemmen zelfs schildpadden in. Alles omgeven door mooi groen, palmen en wuivend bamboe, bloemen, wat een rustgevende zaligheid! We zijn ook het zwembad regelmatig ingedoken, koud nu nog maar wel heerlijk na een lange paardenrit en goed voor de spieren. Ook nauwelijks last gehad van spierpijn, mede dankzij de pilateslessen en de uitgebreide massage. De paarden zijn ook heel fijn te berijden, eerlijke paarden die met plezier op pad gaan en zich door niets gek laten maken. Ik vond die steile wegen in het begin best spannend maar de paarden geven je snel al het vertrouwen. Net als voor alle blaffende honden die hun waaksheid niet verbergen of andere verrassende dingen die je onderweg tegen komt. We zijn zelfs een dag door het dorp gereden, rotondes en wegopbrekingen inclusief, echt heel leuk om dat te paard te doen. De omgeving is prachtig en heel divers. Zo veel lekkere geuren, van de sinaasappelbloesem maar ook rijdend door hele velden vol rozemarijn en tijm. Bossen, bergen, wijde vlaktes, mooie vergezichten, rivieren, van het pad af. Het weer zat ook mee, zonnige dagen.En tijdens de enige regenbui die viel zijn we snel het bos ingedoken. Dat duurde hooguit 10 minuten en met een temperatuur rond de 23 graden is alles ook zo weer droog.Elke dag ontbijt (met o.a. een hele schaal vers gesneden fruit) verzorgd door de vrolijke, attente Cathy. Na het rijden even opfrissen en aanschuiven voor een heerlijk maal en 'savonds weer, wijntje erbij: wat een luxe! Giles en Miranda zijn ontzettend fijne mensen die er alles aan doen om het je naar de zin te maken en dat lukt ze helemaal! Heel mooi hoe zij alles hebben opgebouwd en wat ze creëeren. Die passie voel je, het wordt overal in vertaald. En zo kun je hier optimaal genieten, topvakantie!!"

in English: "Wow....what a holiday ! We spent a wonderful time here ! Everything was great. First we spent a few days in Málaga and we were picked up from there. Excellent service ! Everything was like that really; A beautiful room, clean and very comfortable, nice beds and the softest of bed linen (where do you get these, I want it too!), a bottle of wine. Active Amadeo brought us the lovely horsey sounds from his paddock in front of our room. The calming sound of the stream next to the property which even has turtles swim in it. Everything is surrounded by beautiful greenery, plams and swaying bamboo, flowers what a relaxing treausre ! We regularly dove into the pool, albeit still cold at this time of year, but nevertheless lovely after a long ride and good for the muscles. Hardly suffered any muscle ache anyway, also because of the pilates lessons and the extensive massage treatment. The horses are wonderful to ride, honest horses who lover their job and nothing faces them. The steep lanes were a bit daunting at first, but the horses soon give you all the confidence. The same with barking dogs guarding their properties or any other surprises you encounter along the way. One day we even rode through the villiage, around round-abouts, road works, really nice experience to do this from horseback. The countryside is beautiful and very diverse. Lots of fragrances, from the orange blossom but also riding through fields of rosemary and thyme. Forests, mountains, wide open spaces and far away views, rivers, off the beaten track. The weather was great, sunny days and during the only shower we had, we managed to get into the forest for the 10 min. duration and with 23ºC it was dry in no time. Every da breakfast (with freshly cut fruits) prepared by the always happy and attentive Cati. After the ride, a quick freshening up and enjoying a tasty lunch and in the evening once more, accompanied by wine: what a luxury ! Giles and Miranda area great people who will do anything to give you a good time and they succeed ! Beatiful to see how they have built everything up and what they have created. You can feel the passion, it is felt throughout. This way you can enjoy to your heart´s content, an excellent holiday !"

Я никогда не видела столь хорошо вышколенных лошадей в центрах, специализирующихся на прогулках, а не на выездке. Мой чудесный Сирокко позволил мне научиться прислушиваться к нему и взаимодействовать. Джайлс и Миранда прекрасно заботятся о своих лошадях. И о гостях тоже, у них очень уютно)) Симпатичные окрестности, много разных маршрутов. Рядом небольшой городок куда можно выбраться в кафе для разнообразия. Малага находится в часе езды на автобусе. Если хочется менее ленивого отпуска - хорошо взять автомобиль напрокат и во второй половине дня выезжать куда душе угодно."

in English: "Best place for a lazy and relaxed holiday with reasonable amount of hours in the saddle. I have never seen such well schooled horses in the trail riding centers. I learned a lot from my wonderful Sirocco. Miranda a Giles take really good care of their horses. And their guests, it is a cozy accommodation with nice atmosphere. The area around is very nice, there are many various routes. Small town nearby gives an opportunity to get out for a change. Malaga is about 1 hr bus ride away. If you are up to a less lazy holiday - it is a good idea to rent a car and get away wherever you please in the afternoons."

Giles és Miranda végtelenül kedvesek, rugalmasak voltak mindvégig a szervezéstől kezdve a lovaglásokon át. Késő este érkeztünk, beestünk a kényelmes, illatos tiszta ágyba, másnap pedig miattunk későbbre szervezték a reggelit és a lovaglás kezdetét is. Mindketten pont olyan lovat kaptunk, amilyet szerettünk volna. A lovak megbízhatóak, jól képzettek, biztos lábúak, kényelmesek és mindig figyelnek lovasukra, nem fásultak, tudják és szeretik is a munkájukat. Habár itthon napi szinten lovagolunk, a napi 4 óra lovaglásban jócskán elfáradtunk. Az ételek rendkívül finomak, autentikusak, frissek. A szállás tiszta, jól berendezett, kényelmes, minden igényt kielégít. Mindig családias hangulat vett körül minket, nem éreztük 'futószalagon' érkező vendégnek magunkat. Nem kívánhattunk volna jobbat, csak ajánlani tudom!"

in English: "We spent three fantastic equestrian days with the HorseRidingSpain family. Giles and Miranda were always kind, flexible all the way from the organization to riding. We arrived late in the evening and fell into a comfortable and fresh bed. The next day we had breakfast and then started riding. We both got the type of horse we wanted. The horses are reliable, well-trained, surefooted, comfortable and they are always listening to their riders, not numb to the aids, but knowing and loving their work. Although we ride at home on a daily basis, we were pretty tired after riding 4 hours each day. The dishes are extremely tasty, authentic, freshly prepared. The accommodation is clean, well furnished, comfortable and satisfies all needs. We were submerged in a relaxed family atmosphere without formalities. We couldn't wish for better, I can really recommend!"

Via e-mail in German: "Ich habe gerade einen wunderschönen und sehr entspannten Urlaub im März bei Miranda und Giles verbringen dürfen. Gerade um diese Jahreszeit empfand ich das Wetter mit rund 20 Grad und Sonne satt sehr angenehm. Am Flughafen wurde ich von eurem Taxifahrer pünktlich und freundlich bereits erwartet, so das auch das alleine Anreisen sehr einfach war. Vor Ort wurde ich sehr herzlich von Miranda begrüßt. Ich bekam eine sehr großzügige Wohnung. Bestehend aus einem großem Wohnzimmer mit Küchenzeile, sowie einem Schlafzimmer und dem Bad. Alles sehr gepflegt und sauber. Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr schön angelegt. Und der Poolbereich mit seinen Palmen und Blumen ringsherum lädt einfach zum relaxen und verweilen ein.........

weiter lesen (DE): ".....Die Pferde leben die meiste Zeit gemeinsam in einem großen und gepflegten Paddock. Es sind sehr verschiedene Pferde sowohl optisch als auch vom Charakter. Die Pferde die ich erlebt habe waren sehr gut geritten, sehr trittsicher und absolut unerschrocken im Gelände. Geritten wird englisch mit sehr bequemen Barefootsätteln. Ich habe die Ritte auf eurem einfach nur lieben Pferd Savannah sehr genossen. Meistens ist Giles mit uns geritten und er war durch seine freundliche und offene Art stehts ein super Rittführer und für alle Fragen offen. Die Ritte waren abwechslungsreich und zeigtem einem das wunderschöne Hinterland Andalusiens. Das anschließende Mittagessen auf der Terasse war einfach nur lecker. Es gab immer Salat, frisches Gemüse und andere leckereien. Am Nachmittag konnte man sich wunderbar am Pool entspannen. Abends konnte man nach dem reichhaltigem Essen gemeinsam am Kaminfeuer mit den anderen Gästen den Tag ausklingen lassen. An einem Tag hatten wir reitfrei. Wir sind mit dem Bus nach Malaga gefahren. Die Bushaltestelle ist nur 5 Gehminuten entfernt und für nur ca. 4 Euro ist man in etwas über einer Stunde mitten in Malaga. Hier gibt es eine menge zu erleben, so das man hier problemlos den ganzen Tag verbringen konnte bevor man Abend zurück fuhr. Was soll ich sagen die Woche war viel zu schnell vorbei, es war einfach nur nur schön und entspannend und ich könnte mir sehr gut vorstellen wieder zu kommen. Miranda und Giles sind wahnsinnig Gastfreundlich, so das man sich einfach nur wohl gefühlt hat. Vielen Dank dafür."
in English: "I have just spent a wonderful and very relaxing holiday in March with Miranda and Giles. Especially at this time of year The weather was especially pleasant with about 20 degrees and lots of sunshine. At the airport I was met by your taxi driver, who was punctual and friendly, which made traveling alone was very easy. I was warmly welcomed by Miranda upon arrival. I got a very spacious apartment, consisting of a large Living room with kitchenette, as well as a bedroom and bathroom. Everything was very well maintained and clean. The whole area is very nicely laid out. The pool area with its palm trees and flowers around invites just to relax and chill. The horses live together most of the time in a big and well-kept paddock. There are very different horses both visually and character wise. The horses I experienced were very well ridden, very sure-footed and absolutely bomb proof being ridden outside. The riding style is English with very comfortable barefoot saddles. I have really enjoyed the rides on your very lovely horse Savannah. Mostly Giles rode with us who is a great ride guide with his natural frienliness and openess. The rides were varied and showed us the beautiful hinterland of Andalusia. The subsequent lunch on the terrace was just delicious. It always included salad, fresh vegetables and other goodies. In the afternoons it was wonderful to relax by the pool. In the evening you could reminsce on the day together with other guests - after having enjoyed another hearty meal. We had one day off riding. We went to Malaga by bus- the bus stop is only a 5 minute walk away and for only about 4 Euro and a bus ride of just over an hour you are in the middle of Malaga. Málaga has a lot on offer, so you can easily spend the whole day here before taking the bus back in the evening. What can I say the week was over too fast, it was simply beautiful and relaxing and I could very well imagine coming again. Miranda and Giles are extremely hospitable, so you just felt at home. Thank you very much for this."

via email "I did a google search to find out what riding holidays were available in Spain and having looked at a few but then reading reviews of past customers happy feedback I decided to book with Giles and Miranda at their equestrian holiday centre. What a good choice I made ! Lovely Andalusian property for horses and guests [ smart bedrooms with en-suite ] and great home cooking for the meals every day in the separate smart diner / kitchen area. The horses are in great condition and trekking fit , 4 hours was never a worry for them , and the Barefoot treeless saddles very comfy for the long hours of hacking, each horse has a ‘soft’ mouth and are very very light in hand, so unusual for holiday horses !! and they are very obedient as a bonus point also. The routes were altered everyday with a mixture of village paths , hill paths , river beds , farm fields etc etc and always interesting routes with local life in the numerous Finca local homes and grander Hacienda stylish properties with olive groves and orange and lemon orchards. The two horses I rode on the week were both super mannered and forward going when needed for the several canters but they excel at being safe in walk and trot and surefooted over some of the looser terrain. Overall it’s a 10 out of 10 from me as it suited my needs of riding lovely horses, sight seeing Spain´s country lifestyles and enjoying rest n reading time along with good food and vino at end of the day. So much so ive already pre booked to return at the end of the year [ Nov ]."
